Fairfax,VA  (January 26, 2024) --- Five-time GRAMMY winners Blind Boys of Alabama bring the songs from their lauded 2009 concert film, “Live in New Orleans,” to audio streaming platforms today at long last.  Previously only available in DVD and video streaming formats, the tracks capture the exuberance, passion and spirit of the group’s live performances, blending gospel, blues and soul together with special guests Susan Tedeschi, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dr. John, Henry Butler and Marva Wright.

Recorded at Tipitina’s during JazzFest in 2008, the film was a companion piece to the group’s GRAMMY-winning “Down in New Orleans” album. Produced by Charles Driebe & Chris Goldsmith, “Live in New Orleanscombines new songs and old favorites, with selections from the “Down in New Orleans” album performed alongside selections from the Blind Boys’ previous four albums as well as several classic gospel tunes. Both projects were conceived as a love letter to New Orleans during its slow recovery from Hurricane Katrina. Listen to Live in New Orleans here: https://lnk.to/BlindBoysofAlabamaLIVEinNOLA
